Abstract
"It feels as though the field of health equity has finally come into its time. Conversations about the presence of health disparities have evolved into discussions of how to eliminate them, which have in turn evolved into a broader movement to truly achieve equity in health predictors, statuses, and outcomes. The field of health equity is at its core a branch of social justice, and the movement has clearly begun. The road is long, however, and the issues that drive the underlying presence of health disparities remain firmly in place. The field also remains very new, particularly in investigating the unique health and healthcare needs of groups that are not only marginalized in society, but also largely neglected in the scientific literature. -- Provided by publisher.

Abstract
This book gets to the heart of what radiology is and what radiologists do. As a relatively young speciality, there is no guide for radiologists to act as a moral compass. Until now, that is. You will not find any dry technical matters in here. You will not find any clues about how to interpret images better. This book details the 'other 50%' : the rest of the working week when a radiologist is not reading scans or performing procedures.
The essence of radiology is distilled and offered up to the reader. If you want a comfortable read that offers bland reassurances, look elsewhere. If you want a book that questions everything and discusses uncomfortable truths, this is the book for you. Each of the Rules addresses an important part of professional practice. This book is a manifesto for all radiologists across the globe to raise their game, to be more effective and to serve their patients better. -- Provided by publisher.

Abstract
"Within the United Kingdom (UK), most mainstream healthcare practitioners receive little or no nutrition education during their years of training. As a consequence, the understanding of nutrition amongst primary care practitioners such as general practitioners, pharmacists, midwives, and practice nurses is limited and is largely focused on energy consumption and obesity. There is little knowledge of the wealth of micronutrients that underpin health, nor of the ticking timebomb of insufficient intakes of those micronutrients amongst a significant proportion of the population in the UK. The Building Blocks of Life: A Nutrition Foundation for Healthcare Professionals is a step towards redressing that balance. It sets out an informative and engaging narrative on how and why nutrition is the basis for good health. It discusses UK-specific issues with regards to diet and intakes of vitamins, minerals, essential fatty acids and other micronutrients. It also raises concerns about the potential negative health implications of the generally poor UK diet and suggests ways that healthcare practitioners can support patients in improving their long-term health outlook. Nutrition policy in the UK needs to be dragged into the 21st century and this book sets out evidence-based arguments which challenge current public health myths such as the idea that 10 micrograms of vitamin D is all anyone needs or the messaging around the consumption of saturated fat vs highly processed seed oils or that everyone can get all the nutrients they need from a varied and balanced diet. Although The Building Blocks of Life: A Nutrition Foundation for Healthcare Professionals focuses on concerns around poor diet and the consequent micronutrient inadequacies in the UK, the nutritional detail is relevant no matter where you are in the world. Everyone eats, all the time. It is time that mainstream medicine looked towards food as both a cause and a solution to many of the chronic degenerative conditions that plague modern life." --publisher

Abstract
Polices and Procedures for Infusion Therapy is a companion product to the Infusion Therapy Standards of Practice (the Standards), 8th edition. Evidence-based guidance for clinical practice has been derived directly from the Standards, including associated references, glossary of terms, abbreviations, and acronyms. Polices and Procedures for Infusion Therapy is intended to reflect current knowledge and practices of the clinical specialty of infusion therapy. Because clinical practice continuously evolves based on ongoing research, clinicians should make an independent assessment of the appropriateness and applicability of a policy or procedures in any specific instance -- Provided by publisher

Abstract
"Palliative Care Nursing: Caring for Suffering Patients continues to explore the concept of suffering as it relates to nursing practice in an updated new edition. This text helps practicing nurses and students define and recognize various aspects of suffering across the lifespan and within various patient populations, while providing guidance in alleviating suffering. In addition, the authors discuss ways nurses that witness suffering can optimize their own coping skills and facilitate personal growth. The Second Edition aligns with the recently updated ELNEC and AACN competencies and features three new chapters discussing advance care planning, palliative care for those with serious illnesses, and strategies for having difficult conversations with patients and families." --publisher
