Abstract
"With cancer ranking as the primary or secondary cause of premature death in almost 100 countries worldwide, the World Health Organization recognized a high level of investment in cancer control and treatment (including palliative care) in 2019. At that time, governments at the World Health Assembly (WHA) unanimously adopted a new cancer resolution (Universal Health Coverage: Moving Together to Build a Healthier World). The resolution noted the potential for cancer prevention to reduce cancer burden in the future, while reducing the suffering from cancer in the communities. As most countries are facing an overall increase in the absolute number of cancer cases, large geographical diversity in cancer occurrence and variations in the magnitude and profile of the disease still continue between and within world regions. Specific types of cancer dominate globally: lung, female breast, and colorectal cancer. The regional variations in common cancer types signal the extent to which societal, economic, and lifestyle changes interplay to differentially impact the profile of this most complex group of diseases.Although survival rates for cancer have improved significantly over the past few decades, for each individual, the diagnosis and treatment of cancer are still devastating, affecting the family and community as well. The care of a person with cancer must be more than just the treatment of the cancer itself. Understanding the cultural, psychological, social, and spiritual dimensions of the cancer sufferer and their family and community will ensure the best care.In order to treat individuals with cancer and understand how to give the best possible care to underserved populations, we need to understand cultural diversity. Understanding that cultural aspects of a society may be intertwined with finances and other resources can improve adherence and access to care. Culture is made up of language, religion, cuisine, social norms, history, ancestry, music, arts, and spirituality. In order to improve cancer care outcomes, patients' diverse spiritual and cultural beliefs must be recognized. In addition, available methods must be utilized to improve access and adherence to treatment modalities and regimens. In this book, we focus on numerous diverse cultures, traditions, and faiths. Many parts of the world are composed of indigenous cultures, with unique spiritual beliefs in addition to the region's primary religion. We present chapters on indigenous religions as well as indigenous traditional healers. People everywhere experience trouble, sorrow, need, and sickness, and they develop skills and knowledge in response to these adversities. This book provides insightful models of these parameters and serves as a valuable resource for health care providers and policymakers by taking a global approach to cultural diversity in the world. By understanding this multiculturalism and the many aspects of psychological, social, and spiritual dimensions of health and healing, we can learn from one another." --publisher

Abstract
"Incidence of cancer is increasing all over the world and personalized therapies have become the trend in cancer therapy. Multidisciplinary approaches provide successful results for personalized therapies. As a part of a multidisciplinary healthcare team, oncology pharmacists (OPs) contribute to the rational use of chemotherapy by providing individual pharmaceutical care for cancer patients. A multidisciplinary approach is crucial for the success of cancer therapy. Pharmacists acting as a counsellor for medication-related issues in the multidisciplinary team have a vital role in the oncology setting. OPs are the clinical pharmacists specialized in oncology and they are involved in planning and implementation of pharmaceutical care. Additionally, OPs play an important role in providing comprehensive medication management and related care for cancer patients. We hope that this book will contribute to pharmacists' knowledge and practice in cancer management by provision of a clinical pharmacist's perspective." --publisher

Abstract
"This is the first book to be devoted exclusively to rare tumors in children and adolescents. The completely revised and updated second edition reflects the significant progress that has been accomplished as a result of intensified international networking, deeper implementation of novel diagnostic tools, and the advent of molecular targeted therapies. Readers will find practical guidance on all aspects of clinical management, including diagnostic workup, multimodal therapy, follow-up, and management of adverse effects. The discussion of differential diagnosis encompasses both frequent and rare tumor types, enabling clinicians to take rare entities into account during diagnostic assessment of childhood tumors. Detailed therapeutic recommendations, developed in an international consensus process, are provided for specific rare tumors. In addition, general issues such as epidemiology, etiology, risk factors, biology and genetics, early detection, and screening are fully covered. The book is written by an international and multidisciplinary group of specialists and will be an important compendium for all pediatric oncologists who care for patients with rare tumors." --publisher

Abstract
"How We Live is How We'll Die shares Pema Chodron's wise words on working with this flow of life-learning to live with more ease, joy, and compassion through uncertainty; embracing new beginnings; and ultimately preparing for death with more wonder and less fear. Beloved teacher Pema Chodron writes this book in her 85th year, and her insights on making friends with change are poignant for readers of all ages. This book shares Pema's thoughts on the bardos--the Tibetan teachings on what happens between this life and the next--and how they are relevant in each moment of our life now. She also shares wisdom on working with challenging emotions of craving, aggression, and ignorance, transforming them into a path of awakening and love. The more freedom we can find in our hearts and minds as we live, the more fearlessly we'll be able to confront death and life's countless changes."-- Provided by publisher

Abstract
Kate Bowler believed that life was a series of unlimited choices, only to find that she was stuck in a cancerous body at age 35 ... With dry wit and unflinching honesty, she grapples with her cancer diagnosis, her ambition, and her faith and searches for some kind of peace with her limitations in a culture that says that anything is possible. In facing down cancer, Kate, -- a Christian Joan Didion -- (Glennon Doyle), searches for hope without cheap optimism, and truth with room for mystery. We are as fragile as the day we were born, and we will need each other if we're going to tell the truth: Life is beautiful and terrible, full of hope and despair and everything in between, but there's no cure for being human. -- Author's website
