Abstract
Passion and compassion for low income women of color is not an issue of lacking empathy, scientific or medical care. It is a social issue. Health care providers do their best to support, encourage, treat, and motivate those living with cancer; but many do not have the resources, training, or preparation to work as effectively as possible with patients from marginalized groups in a relatable and non-judgmental way. Cancer Navigation: Charting the Path Forward for Low Income Women of Color is a practical quick-reference resource for U.S. health care providers working with marginalized women throughout the cancer continuum. From community preventative outreach to survivorship, this accessible guidebook is a vital resource for physicians, social workers, case managers, and other cancer care providers who seek to provide more equitable care for low income women of color. -- Provided by publisher.

Abstract
"The Scope and Standards of Practice for Professional Ambulatory Care Nursing promotes effective clinical and administrative management of increasingly complex ambulatory care RN roles and responsibilities in a changing health care environment. The 9th Edition contains significant revisions from previous versions, including an updated Scope of Practice statement, as well as updates for the 16 standards of professional ambulatory care nursing practice. The scope of practice statement addresses the definition and unique characteristics of ambulatory care nursing, the conceptual framework, its history over the past 30 years, the diverse types of ambulatory care settings, the roles of ambulatory care RNs, the trends and issues in ambulatory care and future directions. The standards specify the competencies needed for professional clinical and administrative practice. The first six standards address the six phases of the nursing process; the last ten standards address Professional Performance. Each standard contains three sections: 1. A statement of the standard addressed. 2. Measurement criteria that may be used for demonstrating competency for meeting the standard. 3. Additional standard statements and measurement criteria for nurseexecutives, administrators, and managers. Abstract
"It feels as though the field of health equity has finally come into its time. Conversations about the presence of health disparities have evolved into discussions of how to eliminate them, which have in turn evolved into a broader movement to truly achieve equity in health predictors, statuses, and outcomes. The field of health equity is at its core a branch of social justice, and the movement has clearly begun. The road is long, however, and the issues that drive the underlying presence of health disparities remain firmly in place. The field also remains very new, particularly in investigating the unique health and healthcare needs of groups that are not only marginalized in society, but also largely neglected in the scientific literature. -- Provided by publisher.
