Abstract
This book was written to educate individuals diagnosed with a serious medical condition along with their loved ones about the importance of palliative care. The work outlines what palliative care is, provides communication strategies for getting the type of support and care that you want and need (and not just medications), outlines successful coping strategies, and discusses family dynamics, grieving, emotional support, and spirituality. Although palliative care is often associated with hospice and end-of-life planning, the author argues for a more expanded definition that includes improved quality of life at early as well as later stages of the disease process.

Abstract
"Inspired by a true story, SuperDaisy tells the tale of a little girl undergoing cancer treatment. Told in rhyme, Daisy lets her imagination run wild as she dresses up in fancy dress, coming to the rescue in different and exciting scenarios. In her superhero disguise, Daisy is able to shake off her worries about being unwell and embrace a freer world - and become the superhero that she really is. Gently and sympathetically told, this is an inspiring story perfect for young children encountering illness for the first time"--Publisher's description

Abstract
"The Comfort Book is a collection of little islands of hope, a gathering of consolations and stories that give us new ways of seeing ourselves and the world. Matt Haig's mix of philosophy, memoir and self-reflection builds on the wisdom of philosophers and survivors through the ages, from Marcus Aurelius to Nellie Bly, from Emily Dickinson to James Baldwin. This is the book to pick up when you need the wisdom of a friend or the comfort of a hug, or just want to celebrate the messy miracle of being alive" -- Provided by publisher
