Abstract
Evidence-based practice (EBP) is a process of shared decision-making between clinicians and patients based on research evidence, the patient's experiences and preferences, and the clinician's clinical expertise. We are now well beyond the Institute of Medicine (IOM) goal that 90% of healthcare be evidence-based by 2020 (IOM, 2010), and a gap persists. The need for EBP is more crucial than ever and must consider value-based care; patient preferences; diversity, equity, and inclusion; regulatory standards; costs; and implementation science. EBP in Action addresses the need for a clear EBP process along with precise, accurate, and effective selection of implementation strategies and resources to promote adoption and sustainability of EBP recommendations. In this book, we will inspire you to use the EBP process, think creatively, and engage patients in EBP co-design for improved outcomes -- Provided by publisher.

"Inspired by a true story, SuperDaisy tells the tale of a little girl undergoing cancer treatment. Told in rhyme, Daisy lets her imagination run wild as she dresses up in fancy dress, coming to the rescue in different and exciting scenarios. In her superhero disguise, Daisy is able to shake off her worries about being unwell and embrace a freer world - and become the superhero that she really is. Gently and sympathetically told, this is an inspiring story perfect for young children encountering illness for the first time"--Publisher's description

"Jon loves his life in the North. But when he feels a pain that won't go away, he must go to a children's hospital in the south to find out what is wrong. A doctor there tells Jon he has cancer and will have to stay at the hospital for a while. Suddenly Jon's life is upside down! But with a handful of tricks from the doctors and nurses, and new friends, Jon discovers ways to cope with some of the tricky parts of having cancer. "This Handbook is a product of OpenLab's Stuff Patients Want initiative. Stuff Patients Want is a participatory design initiative in which patients come together to share health care experiences they find frustrating. These patients are then armed with the tools (e.g. design, production)they need to bring their practical and inspired solutions to life. Stuff Patients Want is carried out in the Scandinavian participatory design tradition, driven by the idea that the people destined to use a product or service should play a critical role in designing it, and characterized by active collaboration between users and designers throughout the participatory process."
