Abstract
"It feels as though the field of health equity has finally come into its time. Conversations about the presence of health disparities have evolved into discussions of how to eliminate them, which have in turn evolved into a broader movement to truly achieve equity in health predictors, statuses, and outcomes. The field of health equity is at its core a branch of social justice, and the movement has clearly begun. The road is long, however, and the issues that drive the underlying presence of health disparities remain firmly in place. The field also remains very new, particularly in investigating the unique health and healthcare needs of groups that are not only marginalized in society, but also largely neglected in the scientific literature. -- Provided by publisher.

Abstract
A stale marriage. A deadly diagnosis. For Sally Connolly, three years of struggle followed her husband Peter's surgery for terminal brain cancer at age 61. Choosing treatment options that interfered least with his career, Peter focused his limited energy on work, with little left for his family, further straining the marriage during his remaining days. Connolly's clear-eyed and affecting memoir recounts their wrangling over gender roles, money management, domestic decisions and lifestyle changes. Through their traumatic journey, they find humor and comfort in unexpected places. - Provided by publisher.

"The Tool Kit includes:
1) A booklet, which begins with a Self-Test that will help you decide where you want to focus. You might start by taking the Self-Test and then scoring it. Your scores will suggest places to start. It also contains Tip Sheets about specific topics that others have found key in managing their conditions, and illustrations to accompany the exercise audio program.
2) The latest edition of Living a Healthy Life with Chronic Conditions written by experts in the field. Even more important?all the authors have chronic conditions.
3) A relaxation audio program with four different relaxation exercises. The first is only five minutes, for a quick start, and the others are about 15 minutes each.
4) An exercise audio program with three different levels of exercises, all of which can be done at home. If you have not exercised much lately you might want to start with the first level and work your way up. Of course, some of you will want to start at the third level.
We suggest that you spend a couple of hours a week learning and practicing the new skills. There is no right or wrong, so explore to find what works for you to manage better." --publisher

Abstract
"When Barbara Abercrombie's husband died, she found the language of condolence irritating, no matter how well intended. 'My husband had not gone to a better place as if he were off on a holiday. He had not passed like clouds overhead, nor was he my late husband as if he'd missed a train. I had not lost him as if I'd been careless, and for sure, none of it was for the best.' She yearned instead for words that acknowledged the reality of death, spoke about the sorrow and loneliness (and perhaps even guilt and anger), and might even point the way toward hope and healing. She found those words in the writings gathered here.
The Language of Loss is a book to dip into and read slowly, a collection of poems and prose to lead you through the phases of grief. The selections follow an arc that mirrors the path of many mourners. from abject loss and feeling unmoored, to glimmers of promise and possibility, through to gratitude for the love they knew. These writings, which express what often feels ineffable, will accompany those who grieve, offering understanding and solace".- Provided by publisher.

Abstract
Calling Down the Sky is a poetry collection that describes deep personal experiences and post generational effects of the Canadian Aboriginal Residential School confinements in the 1950''s when thousands of First Nations, Métis, and Inuit children were placed in these schools against their parents'' wishes. Abstract
Summary:
Most people accessing mental health and addiction services have experienced trauma. For those working in community services, treatment agencies and hospitals, providing "trauma-informed care" requires an understanding of the effects of trauma, and of how to create programs, spaces and policies that place priority on trauma survivors' safety, choice and control. Becoming Trauma Informed describes trauma-informed practice at the individual, organizational and systemic levels. This multi-authored collection brings together the voices of those who have integrated trauma-informed principles into various mental health and addiction treatment and social service environments, and of the diverse groups with which they work. Becoming Trauma Informed is an important resource for those who are working, or who are planning to work as addiction and mental health practitioners and program and system planners.

Abstract
"This is the story of an Ojibway boy who, on hearing the call of a Loon, remembers a story long ago. Mishomis (meaning grandfather in Ojibway) comes to a peaceful restful lake surrounded by tall, ancient trees. The place is tranquil because it is sacred, and the Loon is calling because it is time for the Mishomis to pass on. In a moment of silence, Moon Lake Loon Lake welcomes Mishomis's spirit, and again the boy hears the call of the Loon." - Back cover.
